I'm not a huge celebrity watch spotter – not at award shows, at least. Sure, I've got the compulsive "[insert celebrity] is wearing [insert watch]" reflex in the two seconds I see a watch on a TV show or movie, but red carpets aren't necessarily my bag. Brands like to "get their watches on the wrist" of people, and it can take a bit of fun out of the spot. But sometimes, the watches are too good or too genuinely worn to not get sucked in. Add to that my first love – music – and I'm paying close attention.
All that to say, there were some big watch moments at last night's Grammys. We covered one already (and of course, we'll have to get back to that), but let me just start with Luke Combs, seen above with Talking Watches alum Ed Sheeran.
Luke Combs Wearing A Unique ‘Lange 1' Time Zone with Baguette Diamonds
Luke Combs, one of the biggest country stars on the planet, is a big watch guy. Bigger than you would imagine. When I heard he was joining international treasure Tracy Chapman on stage last night, it was enough reason for me to watch their performance about five times (and try to spot his watch during it).
Combs is also just big in stature (like myself) so at first I thought it was a Little Lange 1. With diamonds on the bezel, a white metal case, a dark dial, and a white date disc, that narrows down what it could be substantially. It looks like the dial has guilloché, which makes it the ref. 811.063 made for A. Lange & Söhne's 20th anniversary of the Lange 1. Turns out I was just a bit off. According to some updated info I got, Combs was actually wearing a unique version of the Lange 1 Time Zone 136.029 with diamonds that was purchased from Lange. Country music and a unique Lange, who'da thought?
Victoria Monét With A Bulgari Serpenti Secret (And Three Grammys)
I gotta hand it to her, you can always outdo a watch flex with three Grammys. But the watch is pretty great too. Victoria Monét, winner of the "Best New Artist" award, the "Best R&B Album" award for "Jaguar II," and the "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical" award for "Jaguar II," was rocking a Bulgari Serpenti Secret in a stunning variation I haven't seen before.
Jon Batiste Wearing A Vacheron Constantin Gem-Set Overseas Tourbillon In White Gold
I actually saw Jon Batiste in New York a few weeks ago in one of the most incredible concerts I've ever been to (with bluegrass legends Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers). What a genius. Unfortunately, he didn't come away with the Grammy for Record Of The Year, but he did get to be probably the first person wearing this new reference from Vacheron on a red carpet.

Michael Trotter Jr. Of The War And Treaty Wearing An Oris Aquis 'Bracenet'
Man, I love the bold colors from Tanya Blount and Michael Trotter Jr. of The War and Treaty. You know what else is great? The Oris Aquis Bracenet is another entry in the brand's lineup of eco-conscious and recycled-dial watches. I covered it last August and it's up there with the original upcycle dials for a favorite Oris right now.
Taylor Swift Wearing A Watch As A Choker
Malaika covered this better than I ever could, so just head over to her story for more info. But watch necklaces are 100% a thing.
Travis Scott Wearing His Own Custom AP Royal Oak 'Travis Scott'
Speaking of great watches and great Malaika stories, Travis Scott was on stage wearing his brown ceramic Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar (with rainbow gem-set bezel). It's a cool watch, but also a cool excuse to plug Malaika's story from last year. Now, on to the rest of the spotting...

Jay-Z Accepting The Dr. Dre Global Impact Award Wearing A Patek Ref. 5961R
Okay, on this one, I cheated. It was a big moment for Jay-Z (among many in his career) as he took to the stage with his daughter and accepted an award paying homage to Dr. Dre's trailblazing achievements in music (first given to Dr. Dre himself last year). Jay celebrated and acknowledged the work of his friends and family that have blazed new trails in music (and advocated for Beyoncé to finally win an album of the year). While it was inconsequential by comparison, I wanted to know what he was wearing, and it was hard to tell beyond the fact it was a rose gold chronograph. So I called up Tony Kavak, who has helped outfit Jay-Z with some of his jaw-dropping Pateks over the years. He came back quickly with the answer. Patek ref. 5961R. What a flex. Congrats to Hov.
