Starting today, and continuing over the next two weeks, some very impressive watchmaking will be on hand at Van Cleef & Arpels's Fifth Avenue Boutique for an exhibition highlighting new watches from the recently released Lady Arpels Lumineux and Midnight Zodiac Lumineux lines. There will also be pieces from the Planetarium range and several other complications the company has developed in recent years.
And we'll be there too. On February 12, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, HODINKEE will host an evening of cocktails and conversation at the boutique. There are still a few spaces remaining for what promises to be a fun-filled evening with the HODINKEE editors and your fellow watch lovers.
If you've never had a chance to see the Poetic Astronomy watches from Van Cleef & Arpels in person, then this is your chance. The entire collection of these watches have been gathered all together in the U.S. for the only time in the foreseeable future. We've covered most of these watches as they were released, and in each instance, we've been impressed with the unique perspective that VC&A manages to bring to its horological craft. From all-mechanical complications that illuminate with the push of a button to astronomical complications that accurately depict the movements of heavenly bodies, the Poetic Astronomy watches of Van Cleef & Arpels are in their own category altogether, and offer a refreshing perspective as to what a mechanical watch can be. They're definitely worth checking out if you happen to be in New York City over the next two weeks.
Space for our cocktail event is limited, so if you are interested in joining us, please fill out this survey.
