François-Paul Journe founded the independent manufacture F.P.Journe in downtown Geneva in 1999. The brand's motto, Invenit et Fecit, translates as "he invented it and made it."

The T-30 wristwatch is introduced as a 30th anniversary special edition. The watch is designed as a tribute to the first tourbillon watch F.P. Journe made in 1983.

F.P. Journe wins the L'Aiguille d'Or at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve for the Tourbillon Souverain.

The first F.P. Journe boutique opens in Tokyo, Japan.

The Chronometre a Resonance debuts, a wristwatch utilizing the resonance phenomenon with two balance wheels oscillating closely together.
