This piece is a shining example of the sheer lasting power of Art Deco design as a whole and its great strength within the context of the watchmaking world. The time-only functionality, the minimalistic sector-style dial, and the restrained color palette of cream and silver accented with tempered blue hands make the overall design feel coherent, streamlined, and true to the spirit of the period it's inspired by. Though I recognize that some (okay, many) people are thrown by the cut-off six numeral, given that the original had this quirk about it as well, this detail does not ruin the totality of the design. I would argue this quirk endears me to the piece even more. This watch is powered by the L893.5 automatic caliber, which takes the ETA A31.501 as its base and has a power reserve of 64 hours. The oversized \"big eye\" minute counter of its namesake, along with the stepped bezel, are the quintessential details that can be traced back to the obscure 1930s original model. Among this lineup, the Ultra-Chron is definitively the most wild card pick. Additionally, there are only 500 of these in existence, which adds a collectibility factor, if you're into that kind of thing.
